Develop and progress effective exercise programs for clients in treatment programs and monitor improvements over time through outcome measures and re-assessing functional abilities. Provide hands-on manual therapy to clients including but not limited to soft tissue therapy, joint mobilizations, adjustments, acupuncture, and IASTM to improve pain and disability outcomes. Assess, diagnose, and rehabilitate post-surgical clients in the OHIP Bundle Care Program including hip, knee, and shoulder replacements.
Organizes and actively participates in family meetings with nursing staff and physicians as a support person for patients. Provides assistance in understanding, interpreting, and organizing medical information for inquiry resolution. Coordinates rounding on designated units to proactively seek out and address any patient satisfaction issues. Write follow-up letters to patient families on behalf of clinical staff to facilitate conflict resolution.
Conduct history and physical examinations for private, MVA, and WSIB POC patients to devise their diagnosis. Discuss report of findings and communicate diagnoses with patients to ensure thorough understanding of the proposed plan of management prior to beginning treatment. Conduct history and physical examinations for referred patients from the Family Health Team (FHT) at St. Michael’s Hospital to devise their diagnosis. Communicate a reasonable plan of management for patients, including discussions on associated benefits and risks with chiropractic treatments, alternatives to care, and prognosis. Generate referral reply notes and maintain open communication lines with the medical staff from the FHT.
The chiropractic clinic at South Riverdale Community Health Centre is a multidisciplinary care centre offering chiropractic services within a community healthcare setting. The patient demographic includes low-income families of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) who are referred from the Family Health Team within the community centre, walk-ins, or patient referrals.
Greet and check in patients with excellent communication skills. Assist the chiropractor with setting up modalities including LLLT, TENS, Therapeutic Ultrasound, Game Ready, and vibration therapy. Demonstrated proficiency using clinical software including PS Suite, MediTech, and OSCAR. Verified insurance coverage for all new patients and monitored existing patients’ insurance coverage for potential changes.
Greet patients entering the waiting room and provide assistance for any questions or concerns they have.
