Learn more about this agency Responsibilities The Chiropractor assigned to the Extended Care and Rehabilitation Service Line must be able to provide the following: a. Assessment - Order x-ray (plain film) tests and perform history and physical exams. Utilize standard chiropractic evaluation procedures, along with biomechanical assessments and ergonomic evaluation to establish a chiropractic diagnosis and formulate a management plan. b. Chiropractic Care - Administer joint manipulation, adjustment, mobilization, soft tissue therapies, physical modalities and manual therapy. c. Consultation - Consult with other health care providers and refer patients in accordance with accepted medical indications. d. Medical Direction - Provide patient education on body mechanics, therapeutic exercise and lifestyle recommendations e. Referral - Refer patients to appropriate provider when chiropractic care is deemed inappropriate or when patient conditions outside the scope of chiropractic care are suspected or detected through examination or because of diagnostic testing. f. Treatment Modalities - Order and/or administer physical modalities such as heat, cold, electrical, ultrasound, orthotics, supportive bracing, taping.
